Yesterday, Ella and I went to Pick Me Up – ‘the first contemporary graphic art fair in the UK’ – at Somerset House.

You have the chance to buy ‘affordable’ limited edition prints from big name illustrators and designers like Peep Show, Nobrow and Le Gun, although some were more affordable than others.

One of my favourite parts of the show was Rob Ryan’s in-gallery workshop where you can watch the processes behind his impressive paper art. I also really enjoyed It’s Nice That’s mini-cinema.

The show runs until 3 May and it’s well worth the small entry fee.

In a week and a half I’ve spent 13 hours on 18 different trains and passed through Reading station six times.

Today I went for a walk in Windsor Great Park for the first time this year. I walked to the Copper Horse on Snow Hill.

The view north.

Muddy again.

I went to visit Selina in Winslow for a few days and for once I took my own camera. The lambs had arrived and the weather was glorious(ly English) – we had many short adventures in green and pleasant Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Natural History Museum in Tring which is a lot smaller than the one in London but is absolutely packed full of stuffed animals. Well worth a trip.

Some drawings from the trip here. Back in Windsor now and already a little sad to be away from the open fields.

This evening I went to see Chuck Ragan at the Peel in Kingston. I didn’t take this video and it’s not from tonight but it is of Chuck Ragan. You should watch it at least until the harmonica comes in.

An excellent evening’s entertainment.

On Tuesday Ella and I went on a long walk to Severndroog Castle.

The castle is situated in a woodland area on Shooters Hill, South London which, whilst still within view – and walking distance – of Canary Wharf and the City, is so quiet and secluded it might as well not be in London at all.

Apparently the castle occupies(/d) the highest point between London and Paris. This is the view of the City from Shooters Hill.

As always, thanks Ella for sending me the photographs.

Today I went to watch the St Paddy’s day parade and the entertainment in Trafalgar Square. There was an outstanding range of entertainment from drunkards dancing in the fountains to a man licking Guinness off the floor.

A few days early, but for Wednesday, a happy and snake free St Patrick’s day.

Although technically we still have a couple of Winter weeks left, it feels like Spring has sprung in London and over the weekend I visited Greenwich Park with Ella and with Lewis. It is home to the Royal Observatory and the Greenwich Meridian, where the Eastern and Western Hemispheres meet.

One foot east, one foot west.

Greenwich Park is also home to one of my favourite views across London. I’d like to draw a panorama of the view from the hill from the O2 to St Paul’s. Perhaps one sunny day I will.

Lost: one small brown sketchbook. Dropped around or in South Kensington tube station. It has some writing on the front and my email address on the back.
